Admission Requirement

Admission into ND programmes shall be by Universal Tertiary Matriculations Examinations (UTME),  as well as successful completion of a one-year preliminary programme or other approved measures, having passed WASSCE/NECO with at least five credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings. However, admission requirements shall be based on NBTE standards as specified below:

 

National Diploma (ND) - Nautical Science
Five 0'Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one from Biology, Agricultural Science, Health Science, Economics or Commerce, Additional Mathematics/Statistics.

 

National Diploma (ND) – Marine Transportation & Business Studies.Five 0’ Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any three from Economic, Business Methods, Principle of Accounts, Government, Additional Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Agriculture Science, Literature in English.

 

National Diploma (ND) – Computer Science

Five 0'Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one from Biology, Agricultural Science, Health Science, Economics or Commerce, Additional Mathematics/Statistics.

 

Pre National Diploma

            (a)       Pre – ND Nautical Science.

            (b)       Pre – ND Marine Transportation & Business Studies.

            (c)       Pre – ND Computer Science.

This is designed for those who would want to take a career in any of the above Courses but may have some defects in the requirement for admission into the direct national diploma programmes. Candidate with three passes at credit level in the relevant subject areas, and in not more than two sitting can apply, provided that such a person when admitted shall be required to re-write all the defective subjects at the WAEC,GCE/NECO upon completion of the pre – ND period, which in ANIMT, shall be one academic year of two semesters. In addition, only pre-ND students with overal score average of 60% shall be offered admission into the direct ND programme
