Program Overview:
The Marine Engineering Technology ND and HND programs focus on the mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems that power ships and offshore platforms. Students receive intensive training in marine engines, ship construction, auxiliary systems, automation, and marine electrical systems, ensuring readiness for both sea and shore-based engineering roles.


Admission Requirements:

  • ND Admission:
    Five (5) O'Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other technical or science subject at not more than two sittings.
    Minimum JAMB UTME score (with emphasis on Physics and Mathematics).
    Medical fitness certificate.

  • HND Admission:
    National Diploma (ND) in Marine Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline with a minimum of Lower Credit.
    Completion of one-year Industrial Training (IT).
    Transcript submission and evidence of practical experience.

Program Duration:

  • ND: 2 years

  • HND: 2 years

Tuition and Fees:

  • ND: ₦190,000 per session

  • HND: ₦210,000 per session
    (Additional fees: ₦25,000 for uniforms and toolkits.)

Certification Awarded:

  • National Diploma (ND) in Marine Engineering Technology

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marine Engineering Technology

Special Certifications:

  • STCW Marine Engineering Safety Certificates (optional)

  • Offshore Training Certification (for Oil & Gas marine support roles)

Career Opportunities:
Graduates can work as marine engineers on ships, offshore oil rigs, shipyards, marine service companies, port engineering departments, and maritime equipment manufacturers.
